You can upgrade your RemakeCV plan at any time by emailing support@remakecv.com. If you upgrade mid-term on an annual plan, the additional fee is pro-rated for the remaining year. Downgrades and seat reductions normally take effect at your next renewal.

## How do I upgrade?

Email support@remakecv.com with what you need — more seats, a different plan, or more credits. Upgrades are available at any time on any package.

On an annual plan, an upgrade is pro-rated: you pay the difference for the remaining months rather than a full additional year.

## Should I add seats or ask for more credits?

These solve different problems, and picking the wrong one is expensive.

| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| More people need to log in | Add seats |
| The same people need to process more CVs | More credits, not more seats |
| One consultant keeps hitting a cap | Raise their [per-user limit](https://www.remakecv.com/help/account-and-billing/credits-explained.md) — no purchase needed |
| Occasional overflow in busy months | Buy a credit top-up yourself from the dashboard |

> **Tip:**
Check your usage log before buying anything. A team that appears to be out of credits is often just one consultant with a low individual limit, which costs nothing to change.

## What happens to credits when I add a seat?

Your credit allocation is a figure we set on your account — it does not change automatically when a user is added.

> **Warning:**
When you add seats, **ask us to resize the allocation at the same time**. Otherwise you gain a login and no additional capacity, and the team hits the limit sooner than expected.

For a short-term shortfall, buy a credit top-up from the dashboard instead — see [invoices and payment](https://www.remakecv.com/help/account-and-billing/invoices-and-payment.md).

## How do I downgrade?

Email support@remakecv.com. Reductions normally apply at your next renewal rather than immediately, since the current term is already paid.

Before downgrading, confirm:

- **Seats.** Which users will be removed — removal is permanent, with no deactivated state. See [user roles and permissions](https://www.remakecv.com/help/account-and-billing/user-roles-and-permissions.md).
- **Credits.** Whether the reduced pool covers your actual monthly volume — check the usage log rather than estimating.
- **Features.** If you are moving off Enterprise, whether you rely on an [ATS integration](https://www.remakecv.com/help/integrations/integrations-overview.md).

## What happens to my templates and CV history?

Templates are unaffected by plan changes. CV history is retained according to your storage settings, not your plan — see [GDPR and data retention](https://www.remakecv.com/help/anonymisation-and-compliance/gdpr-and-data-retention.md).

## How do I cancel?

Email support@remakecv.com. Download anything you need from CV history before your access ends.
