# Connecting Crelate

> RemakeCV connects to Crelate. Our team builds the connection from API credentials issued on your Crelate account, so candidates leave your desk in your house template or in the format a particular client insists on.

RemakeCV connects to Crelate. Our team builds the connection for your firm from API credentials issued on your Crelate account, and it then behaves like every RemakeCV integration — a candidate's CV becomes a branded document, in your house template or in a client-specific variant of it, and returns to their record. Write to support@remakecv.com with Crelate in the subject line and we will take it from there.

## Why specialist firms ask for this

Crelate tends to be run by smaller staffing and search firms — a few consultants working a defined vertical, where the business rests on a short list of client companies rather than an open market. When you submit to the same eight or ten clients repeatedly, the format each one expects becomes part of the account relationship. One requires their own letterhead under a preferred-supplier agreement. Another sifts blind and will not take a name on the first page. A third wants the CV by itself, cover sheet removed.

Kept up by hand that is a small tax on every submission, and an occasional embarrassment when the wrong version goes out. It is also precisely the situation [template variants](https://www.remakecv.com/help/templates-and-branding/template-variants.md) exist for.

## Working to each client's format

A variant is a complete version of your template for one situation: a client's branding reproduced as they specify it, an anonymised layout, a build with no cover page. Consultants pick the right one while the CV is processed, and there is no cap on how many you keep. Where an account is worked by one or two people, ask us to scope that client's variant to them.

> **Tip:**
Name variants after the client or the situation, never after the design. Under submission pressure, the wording in that dropdown is the only thing standing between the right document and the wrong recipient.

Everything a variant covers survives the connection intact — which matters more than any of the setup detail below. Linking Crelate removes a file-shuffling step; it does not narrow which version of your template a consultant can reach for.

## Setting the connection up

### Describe your desk to us

Email support@remakecv.com with your firm's name and a short account of how a candidate gets from Crelate to a client today, including which clients need their own format.

### Obtain API credentials on your Crelate account

Crelate's support team issues these to you as their customer and will tell you what your account can be granted. Whatever they allow is what we have to build against.

### Hand the credentials over on a secure channel

Ask us for one first. Anything reaching candidate records deserves password-grade handling — not plain email, and not parked in a thread that outlives the project.

### We build it and switch it on centrally

Our team writes the connection and enables it for your company, after which the relevant controls appear in your dashboard. Individual consultants install nothing.

> **Note:**
What can be built is bounded by the API access Crelate grants your account — usually retrieving a candidate's CV, filing the finished document back against them, or both. We put that scope in writing with you before any code is written rather than assuming it. The same conversation settles whether the connection is held once for the firm or made by each consultant. On credential and candidate-data handling generally, see [security and sub-processors](https://www.remakecv.com/help/anonymisation-and-compliance/security-and-subprocessors.md).

## Where the CV goes, and what it looks like

1. Consultants carry on running candidates through Crelate as they do today.
2. The CV is rendered into whichever version your client expects, through the usual editor and options.
3. The finished file returns to the candidate's record, on hand when the submission goes out.

Formatting is untouched by any of this. [Auto-anonymisation](https://www.remakecv.com/help/anonymisation-and-compliance/auto-anonymisation.md), [candidate summaries](https://www.remakecv.com/help/ai-tools/candidate-summaries.md) and the editor behave the same whether a CV came over the connection or was dragged into the browser: a connection governs the file's journey and nothing about the document itself. If the underlying template has not been designed yet, that build runs alongside — see [requesting a custom template](https://www.remakecv.com/help/templates-and-branding/requesting-a-custom-template.md).

## Building it yourself instead

Crelate not appearing on our live list changes nothing about whether it can be connected: we build against whatever platform a firm actually runs, from credentials that platform issues. If you would rather own the code, the [public REST API](https://www.remakecv.com/help/api-reference/introduction.md) exposes the processing, retrieval and template endpoints directly — see [connecting RemakeCV to any ATS or internal system](https://www.remakecv.com/help/integrations/using-the-api-instead.md).

## Plans, and how to open the conversation

Integrations come with Business and with Enterprise, on the same terms — see [plans and pricing](https://www.remakecv.com/help/account-and-billing/plans-and-pricing.md). To start, email support@remakecv.com with **Crelate**, your firm's name and the client formats you would want covered first. We will come back with what the connection can do on your account and what we need from you.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does RemakeCV integrate with Crelate?

Yes. Our team builds the Crelate connection for your firm from API credentials issued on your Crelate account, and it then behaves like the RemakeCV integrations already running elsewhere. Write to support@remakecv.com with Crelate in the subject line to begin.

### What do I need to provide?

Two things: API credentials issued on your Crelate account, which Crelate's support team arranges for you as their customer, and a short account of how a candidate currently travels from Crelate to a client. Send both to support@remakecv.com and our team does the build.

### Will it work the same as the other integrations?

Yes. The same templates, client-branded variants, editor, anonymisation, summaries and downloads apply. A connection decides only how a CV travels between two systems — the document your client opens is identical either way.

### Can I use RemakeCV with Crelate before the integration is set up?

Yes. RemakeCV runs standalone in the browser — upload a CV, format it into your template, anonymise it if the client sifts blind, and download it. Small teams often work this way for months and add the connection later; it was never a prerequisite.
