Bulk formatting multiple CVs

Drop a batch of CVs onto RemakeCV and they queue automatically, processing five at a time. Each CV costs one credit and can be reviewed individually.

Drag several CVs onto the upload area at once. RemakeCV queues the whole batch and processes five files concurrently, starting the next as each one finishes. Every CV consumes one credit and lands in your CV history, where you can review and download each one individually.

How do I format a batch of CVs?

  1. Select multiple files

Drag several CVs onto the upload area together, or select several in the file browser. Mixed formats are fine — a batch can contain PDFs and Word files side by side.

  2. Choose one template for the batch

The whole batch renders into the same template. If some CVs need a different one, run them separately or switch template afterwards.

  3. Let the queue run

RemakeCV processes five CVs at a time and starts the next as soon as a slot frees. You can watch each file's status as it moves through the queue.

  4. Review each CV

Bulk processing does not mean bulk trust. Open each result and check dates, employers and job titles before anything goes to a client.

How long does a batch take?

Roughly: (number of CVs ÷ 5) × time per CV.

A text-based CV takes 10–30 seconds, so 20 clean CVs finish in around two minutes. A batch of scanned PDFs takes substantially longer, because every file runs through OCR first.

What does a batch cost?

One credit per CV, exactly as with single uploads. Nothing about batching changes the price.

Credits are checked file by file rather than up front. If you have 5 credits left and queue 10 CVs, the first 5 process and the rest stop with a credit error — you do not lose the batch, and you do not get charged for the ones that did not run.

Warning:

If a consultant hits "credit limit reached" partway through a batch while the company clearly has credits available, they have hit an individual or shared-pool cap. See credits explained.

When is bulk formatting the right tool?

It suits the situations agencies actually hit:

  • A shortlist for one client — several candidates, one template, sent together.
  • A backlog migration — reformatting existing candidates into a new agency template.
  • A new client's first submission — where consistency across the set matters more than any individual document.

For a single urgent CV, single upload is simpler; the queue adds nothing.

Can I bulk format through the API?

Yes. The public API processes one CV per request, so batching is a matter of looping with respect for the rate limit — 30 requests per minute by default. See process a CV and rate limits.

Frequently asked questions

How many CVs can I upload at once?
There is no fixed cap on the number of files in a batch. RemakeCV processes five concurrently and queues the rest, so a large batch simply takes longer.
What happens if I run out of credits mid-batch?
Credits are checked per file rather than per batch, so processing stops at the point the pool is exhausted. Already-processed CVs are unaffected.
Can I use different templates for different CVs in a batch?
A batch uses one template. Process in separate batches if you need different templates, or switch template afterwards on individual CVs — that does not cost a credit.
