How credits and usage work

One credit formats one CV. Credits are pooled at company level and refresh each billing cycle. Reprocessing, editing and re-downloading do not consume extra credits.

In RemakeCV, one credit equals one CV processed. Credits sit in a shared company pool and refresh at the start of each billing cycle. Editing, anonymising, re-downloading or reprocessing a CV you have already formatted does not spend another credit — only a new upload does.

What consumes a credit?

Exactly one thing: processing a new CV.

ActionCosts a credit?
Uploading and processing a new CVYes — one credit
Reprocessing a CV you already formattedNo
Editing sections in the editorNo
Generating an AI summaryNo
Anonymising a CVNo
Generating a cover messageNo
Downloading as DOCX or PDFNo
Re-downloading from CV historyNo
Switching template and regeneratingNo

This is the point worth internalising: a credit buys a candidate, not an action. Once a CV is in the system you can work with it as much as you like.

How many credits do I get?

Your account has a monthly credit allocation set when your plan is agreed, shared across everyone at your company. Business plans are sized from seat count — 30 credits per user is the standard basis — and Enterprise allocations are sized to volume.

Note:

Adding a user does not automatically increase your allocation. If your headcount grows, ask us to resize it — see upgrading and adding seats.

See plans and pricing.

When do credits refresh?

At the start of each billing cycle, not on the first of the calendar month. If your account renews on the 12th, your credits refresh on the 12th.

Unused credits do not roll over between cycles on standard accounts. A small number of agencies have rollover arranged as part of their agreement — if you are not sure which applies to you, ask us.

Can I cap individual users?

Yes. Administrators can set:

  • Per-user limits — a hard cap for a named consultant, checked against their usage in the current billing cycle.
  • Shared pools — a group of users sharing an allocation between them.

A per-user limit takes precedence over any pool the user also belongs to. See credits explained for how to configure these.

Warning:

If a consultant sees "credit limit reached" while the company still has credits, they have hit an individual or shared-pool cap rather than the company balance. An administrator can raise it.

Where can I see usage?

Credit usage is logged per user, per CV, with a timestamp. Administrators can review the log to see who is consuming the pool and when — useful both for spotting an unexpected spike and for sizing your plan at renewal.

Frequently asked questions

How many credits does one CV use?
One. A single credit covers processing that CV plus all the editing, anonymising, summarising and downloading you do with it afterwards.
Do I lose a credit if the formatting comes out wrong?
No. Reprocessing an existing CV does not deduct a credit, so you can retry without penalty.
Do unused credits roll over?
Not on standard accounts — credits refresh each cycle and unused ones lapse. Rollover is available on some agreements. If you regularly run out, you can buy top-ups yourself from the dashboard.
