Connecting Salesforce
The Salesforce integration formats a CV already stored against a candidate record, in place, and sends the finished document back. Our team configures it for your org, so there is nothing for consultants to set up.
The Salesforce integration lets you search candidate records, pick a CV already attached, and format it in place — no download and re-upload — then send the finished document back to the record. It is a read-and-write integration, configured by our team using credentials for a Salesforce integration user, so there is nothing for individual consultants to connect or renew.
How setup works
Salesforce is a managed setup: everything runs through a single integration user that our team configures. There is no consent screen for consultants to complete, no per-user authorisation to chase and no token for anyone to renew — once it is enabled, the whole team has it.
What we need from you:
Credentials for a Salesforce integration user
Either a connected app configured for server-to-server access, or a dedicated integration user account. Your Salesforce administrator provisions this.
Your candidate schema
The integration reads a Candidate object with distinct first name, last name and email fields. Send us your object and field API names and we configure the integration to match your org before you roll out.
Confirmation of which files hold CVs
The integration looks for Word and PDF files attached to the candidate record, newest first.
Because it runs as one integration user rather than as each consultant, per-user Salesforce permissions do not affect who can use it inside RemakeCV.
What it can do
| Capability | What happens |
|---|---|
| Search candidates by name or email | Yes — minimum three characters |
| Look a candidate up directly by Salesforce ID | Yes |
| List the files attached to a candidate | Yes, newest first |
| Format a CV stored in Salesforce, in place | Yes |
| Upload the formatted CV back to the record | Yes |
| Workflow shape | Read and write — pick a stored file, format it, send the result back |
| Connection scope | Managed by RemakeCV — nothing per consultant to connect |
The day-to-day workflow
Find the candidate
Search by name or email from within RemakeCV. A link carrying the Salesforce candidate ID opens straight onto that candidate.
Pick the CV
The candidate's attached files are listed, most recent first.
Format in place
RemakeCV pulls the file from Salesforce and processes it — no download to your desktop.
Review and send back
Check the extraction, then upload the formatted CV to the candidate record.
Specifications
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| File types read from Salesforce | .pdf, .docx, .doc |
| Upload size | 25MB |
| Minimum search term | 3 characters |
| Results per page | 25 |
Credits are checked before a Salesforce CV is processed, so a company at zero credits gets a clear "No credits left" rather than a partial run. See credits explained.
Troubleshooting
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Salesforce integration is not configured properly" | Credentials need attention — email support@remakecv.com |
| "The object 'Candidate__c' is not accessible or configured correctly" | Your org's object name differs, or the integration user needs access to it |
| "Field Error…" naming first/last name or email fields | Your org's field API names differ — send them to us and we will map them |
| "Invalid query cursor" | The search was too broad — refine the search term |
| "Search term must be at least 3 characters long" | Type more |
| "Unsupported file type" | PDF, DOCX and DOC are read from Salesforce — convert the file |
| "File size exceeds limit (25MB)" | Reduce the file size |

Running another ATS or CRM as well?
RemakeCV integrates with any ATS or CRM your agency runs, not only the platforms already live. Our team builds new integrations on request using the API credentials your provider supplies, and they behave exactly like this one — same templates, same editor, same output. Email support@remakecv.com with the platform name, or see the integrations overview.
Frequently asked questions
- How is the Salesforce integration set up?
- Our team configures it using credentials for a Salesforce integration user that your Salesforce administrator provisions. Because it runs on one integration user, there is no per-consultant authorisation to complete and nothing to renew. Email support@remakecv.com to start.
- Will it work with our Salesforce object and field names?
- Yes — we map the integration to your schema. It reads a Candidate object with distinct first name, last name and email fields, so if your org uses different API names, send them to us and we configure the integration to match before you roll out.
- Can it format a CV already in Salesforce?
- Yes. That is the point of this integration — you pick a file from the candidate record and format it without downloading anything, and the finished document goes back onto the same record.
