Connecting JobAdder
JobAdder is the deepest RemakeCV integration: it installs a Choose and Process CV button on the candidate record and can read existing attachments.
Connecting JobAdder installs a "Choose and Process CV" button on every candidate record. Clicking it opens RemakeCV with that candidate's attachments listed, so you pick which CV to format without downloading anything. The connection is per company — one person connects and everyone gets the button.
What you need first
- JobAdder enabled for your company by RemakeCV — email support@remakecv.com
- A JobAdder account that can authorise partner applications
- At least one template configured in RemakeCV
How to connect
Start from RemakeCV
Open the user menu on your dashboard and choose Connect JobAdder. The flow starts here, not inside JobAdder.
Authorise in JobAdder
You are sent to JobAdder's consent screen. Accept every permission requested — the integration asks for
read_candidate,write_candidate,offline_access,partner_ui_actionandread_user.partner_ui_actionis what installs the button, andoffline_accessis what keeps the connection alive. A partial grant connects successfully and then fails later at whichever step needs the missing permission.Check the button appeared
Open any candidate in JobAdder. "Choose and Process CV" should be on the record. Button creation is deliberately non-fatal — if it fails, the connection still reports success — so verify rather than assume.
Test end to end
Format one candidate and confirm the formatted CV lands back on the record before rolling out to the team.
Reconnecting is self-healing: the existing button is removed and recreated, so if the button is missing or stale, disconnecting and reconnecting is the fix.
The day-to-day workflow
Open the candidate in JobAdder
Find the candidate whose CV you need.
Click Choose and Process CV
RemakeCV opens with that candidate's attachments listed, newest first.
Pick the CV to format
Choose which attachment is the current CV — useful when a candidate has sent several versions.
Format and review
Choose a template, review the extraction, apply any AI tools.
Send it back
The original goes to the candidate's
Resumeattachments and the formatted document toFormattedResume, as a.docx.
Sandbox mode
Your company can be pointed at JobAdder's sandbox rather than production. If candidates you expect are missing, or changes are not appearing in live JobAdder, check with us which environment your account is connected to — the two use the same login screen, so it is not obvious from the consent flow.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Was working, now fails for everyone | Company-level token expired or refresh failed | Reconnect |
| Button missing on candidate records | Button creation failed silently at connect | Disconnect and reconnect |
| "Candidate with this email already exists" | JobAdder rejected a duplicate | Use the existing record |
| Validation error on candidate creation | First or last name missing | Supply both |
| Cannot attach the formatted CV | write_candidate not granted | Reconnect, accept all permissions |
| Data looks wrong or absent | Connected to sandbox rather than production | Contact support |
Alternative
If you would rather drive this from your own system, the public REST API handles processing and retrieval — though the write-back into JobAdder would be yours to build.
Frequently asked questions
- Where does the button appear?
- On the candidate record in JobAdder, labelled "Choose and Process CV". It is created automatically when the connection is made and removed when you disconnect.
- Is the connection per user or per company?
- Per company. One authorisation serves everyone — which also means that if it expires, it expires for the whole agency until someone reconnects.
- Can it read the CV already on the candidate record?
- Yes. JobAdder is one of only two integrations that can. You choose from the candidate's existing attachments rather than uploading anything.
